Cryptocurrency wallets usually support a number of predetermined networks. If you're bridging assets to a network, you'll need to make sure the wallet supports that network, otherwise it might appear as though your funds have disappeared.

If you've bridged funds to a network your wallet doesn't support, you may need to import your private key or seed phrase into a wallet that does support the network, or supports custom networks.
MetaMask is a great option for many as it allows custom network configuration. Nowadays there are hundreds of networks, so if you're trying to interact with a new or relatively smaller chain it can be a great option.
