By default, Superbridge sends tokens to your own wallet on the destination chain. You can send them to a different address instead. Transfers can't be reversed, so check the address carefully.
Add a recipient
- In the amount box, select the wallet button next to Max. Recipient address opens.
- Enter or paste the address. On some chains you can also enter a name, such as an ENS name ending in .eth.
- Wait while Superbridge shows Checking address.... If it's your own wallet, you'll see a note such as This is your Base address.
- Select Save.
The wallet button now shows the recipient's name or a shortened address. To go back to your own wallet, open Recipient address and select Reset.
Sending between different types of chain, such as from Ethereum to Solana? You'll need an address for the destination chain. Select Add Solana recipient address, or connect a wallet for that chain. Connect a Solana wallet
New address
If you haven't sent to an address before, you'll see New address: "You haven't sent to this address before. Please double-check it."
Compare the whole address with the one you were given, not only the start and end. Scammers create addresses that look similar. Scams and security
Check the wallet supports the network
The first time you send to an address on a route, Superbridge asks you to confirm the recipient can use the destination chain. You'll see a screen such as Can you use Base?
Some wallets, especially exchange wallets and some mobile apps, only support certain chains. Tokens sent to a chain the wallet doesn't support may be hard or impossible to reach. Check with the wallet's provider if you're unsure.
- If you're sending to yourself, select My wallet supports Base.
- If you're sending to someone else, select I have confirmed the recipient wallet supports Base.
Then select Complete the check. If your wallet needs the network added, select Add network. Add a network to your wallet
Smart contract wallets
Smart contract wallets, such as Safe, often exist only on the chains where they were set up. The same address on another chain may belong to no one.
If you enter a smart contract wallet, you'll see Smart contract wallet: "This looks like a smart contract wallet. By saving, you're confirming it's supported on Base." Only save if you know the wallet exists on the destination chain.
Some routes and tokens can't be sent to smart contract wallets at all. You might see Smart contract recipient not supported, or a message that Coinbase Smart Wallets or Universal Profiles aren't supported on the destination chain. Enter a different recipient address to continue.
Same address required
Some chains only allow transfers to the same address you're sending from. You'll see Please note: "Bridges to or from Soneium must have the same recipient address." To continue, open Recipient address and select Reset to send to your own address.
Addresses that can't receive
Superbridge won't let you save some addresses:
- Not a valid address: the input isn't a valid address or name for the destination chain.
- Token address: "This address is a token address and cannot receive funds." Tokens sent to a token contract are usually lost.
- Unsupported Universal Profile: "This Universal Profile is not supported on the destination chain."
