A transfer takes a few minutes to set up. You choose the tokens and chains, pick a route, check the details and confirm in your wallet. Most transfers arrive within minutes; some take longer and need extra steps.
Before you start
- Connect your wallet.
- Make sure you have some of the sending chain's gas token, such as ETH on most Ethereum rollups, to pay the network fee. Network fees
Step 1: Choose your chains and tokens
Select From. Choose the chain your tokens are on, then the token you want to send. You can search by name, symbol or contract address.
Then select To and choose the chain and token you want to receive. Pick the same token to bridge it, or a different one to swap. To flip the direction, select the switch button between From and To.
Step 2: Enter an amount
Type the amount you want to send, or select Max to use your whole balance.
If you're sending the chain's gas token, such as ETH, you can't send all of it: some has to stay behind to pay the network fee. Max tries to hold back enough, but it can't always work out the cost, for example when a price isn't available. If you see Insufficient funds, lower the amount a little.
Step 3: Pick a route
Superbridge shows the routes available for your transfer. Each route shows what you'll receive, how long it takes, and what it costs. Select the one you want. Choosing a route
Step 4: Review
Before the review screen, Superbridge may ask you to check a few things:
- Wallet check. The first time you send to an address on a route, a screen such as Can you use Base? asks you to confirm the wallet supports the destination chain. Check your wallet supports the network
- Gas check. If the recipient has none of the destination chain's gas token, a screen such as No ETH on Base warns you. You can Go back or Proceed anyway. Gas on the destination chain
The review screen then shows:
- Transfer time: roughly how long it takes.
- Fees: any fees charged by the provider, grouped by provider. Fees
- Network fees: the gas you pay to send the transaction.
- Price details, for swaps: the exchange rate and the least you'll receive. Swaps
Step 5: Confirm
Select Start, then confirm the transaction in your wallet.
If the transfer needs more than one transaction, the button says Continue instead. You'll see a list of steps to work through, such as Approve before Start. Approvals
Native bridge withdrawals take days. For those, a screen explains what's involved before you start. Withdraw with a native bridge
What happens next
Superbridge shows your transfer's progress until it arrives. You don't need to keep the page open: "You can safely close this. Come back to Activity any time to check progress."
If your route has more steps to finish later, come back to Activity to complete them. Track your transfers
