A transfer that's slower than its estimate is almost always still on its way. The tokens are held by the bridge or provider until they're delivered, or refunded if the transfer can't finish. They aren't lost.
When a transfer runs over, Superbridge tells you. The progress screen says "…is taking longer than expected. Your funds are safe." In Activity the transfer shows "This is taking longer than usual."
Check Activity first
Select Activity and find your transfer.
- Action needed means the transfer is waiting for you. Open it and select the button shown, such as Prove or Finalize. It won't move until you do.
- A waiting label, such as In challenge period or Waiting for attestation, means a normal step is still running. What each waiting state means
- In progress means the bridge or provider is delivering your tokens. No action is needed.
Then find your route type below.
Native bridge withdrawals
Native bridge withdrawals take days by design. On most chains that settle on Ethereum, expect about 7 days. You also need to come back to prove and finalize. Withdraw with a native bridge
Chain upgrades can restart a withdrawal's wait. When that happens, the steps show a note explaining why. When a withdrawal resets
Native bridge deposit hasn't arrived
Deposits to a rollup are delivered automatically, usually within minutes.
On Arbitrum, Linea and Polygon AggLayer chains, delivery sometimes needs a nudge. If a deposit still hasn't arrived an hour after you started, Activity shows Action needed and a Finalize button. Select Finalize to complete delivery yourself. This transaction is on the destination chain, so you need gas there.
On OP Stack chains, if automatic delivery fails, a Finalize button appears so you can retry.
USDC with CCTP
CCTP transfers wait for Circle to confirm the burn. Activity shows Waiting for attestation. This can take a little longer when networks are busy.
On manual CCTP routes, your USDC won't arrive until you select Finalize. Check Activity for Action needed. Finish a manual CCTP transfer
Third-party bridges
Third-party bridges usually deliver within seconds to minutes. Delays happen when a provider is busy or a network is congested. They normally clear on their own.
If a fast bridge can't fill your transfer before its deadline, your tokens come back to the wallet you sent from automatically, usually within a few hours. Activity may show Refund in progress until the refund arrives.
Messaging networks don't refund. They keep going until your transfer is delivered on the destination chain. Refunds
